Oklahoma State played in its third straight overtime game and lost to one of the teams at the bottom of the standings in the Big 12 Conference.
The Cowboys lost to their Bedlam rivals 66-62 on the road on Saturday. Oklahoma State drops to 6-10 in Big 12 Conference play, while OU trails OSU by a full game in the conference standings at 5-11.
Avery Anderson III led the charge for Oklahoma State with 25 points on an efficient 7-14 clip from the field and a perfect 8-8 at the free-throw line. Moussa Cisse recorded another double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds, including a dunk to tie the game late in regulation. Bryce Thompson’s Bedlam struggles continued with just nine points on 4-11 shooting. Thompson scored just six points in Oklahoma State’s Bedlam win a few weeks back. Isaac Likekele added six points, five rebounds and four assists in the loss.
Oklahoma State struggled to shoot the ball, finishing with just 19 points in the first half and shooting 38.6% from the field for the game. Tanner Groves finished with a double-double for the Sooners with 14 points and 10 rebounds while both Umoja Gibson and Jordan Goldwire finished with 13 points.
Oklahoma State closes its season on the road against Iowa State on Wednesday night before returning home to play Texas Tech at Gallagher- Iba Arena Saturday afternoon at 2:00.
