Walton III becomes the latest addition after Gretna, Nebraska quarterback Zane Flores recently committed to the Cowboys. Walton III plays on a loaded South Oak Cliff roster that won the 5A DII State Championship Game in Texas last December. He is ranked as the 32nd best recruit in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, according to the SportsDayHS top 50.
South Oak Cliff’s run to the 5A DII State Championship Game was aided by a team-high 12 sacks throughout the season from Walton III. He also finished with 54 tackles and 12 tackles-for-loss for the Golden Bears.
Walton III picked Oklahoma State over offers from Texas, Tennessee and Texas A&M, among others. Oklahoma State has the 23rd ranked class in the nation following Walton’s commitment. That ranks behind Texas Tech, Baylor, Texas and West Virginia in the Big 12, and just ahead of Iowa State and Oklahoma.
