The Big 12 Conference released its preseason Baseball poll today and despite being defending regular season champions, Oklahoma State was picked to finish third in the conference this year.
The Cowboys went 48-18 last year and are No. 5 in the D1 Collegiate Baseball rankings. It's not very often a 5th ranked team nationally is ranked 3rd in the conference, but the Big 12 is loaded. TCU, Oklahoma State, Texas, and Texas Tech all rank in the Top 10.
There's a lot of promise with this team. They are returning multiple starters including Jon Perrin and Gage Green, but they aren't going to let a high ranking go to their heads.
"We don't worry about rankings, preseason polls are what they are; Oklahoma was ranked No. 4 last year in football and we saw how that worked out for them," Perrin said.
Perrin may not be worried about the polls, but we like to look at them anyway.
