Former United States President George W. Bush will throw out the first pitch for the grand opening of Oklahoma State’s new baseball ballpark, O’Brate Stadium, against TCU on March 20 in Stillwater, according to The Tulsa World.
The 73-year-old Bush, who also delivered the commencement address in 2006 as the sitting president, as a longtime friendship with OSU donor, Cecil O’Brate.
Bush, who previously owned the MLB’s Texas Rangers, has thrown out the first pitch for multiple baseball games but his most noteworthy one came before Game 3 of the 2001 World Series between the Arizona Diamondbacks and New York Yankees in the first game after the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
