Bryce Thompson, the No. 19-ranked recruit, announced his commitment to Kansas on Tuesday at Booker T. Washington High School in Tulsa.

Thompson picked the Jayhawks over numerous offers, including Oklahoma State, Oklahoma, and North Carolina. Kansas looked to be the favorite since Thompson already had a connection with Jayhawks head coach Bill Self with Thompson’s father, Rod, having played for Self at Tulsa.

While missing out on a player like Thompson is no fun, Cowboy fans can take solace in the fact that the future remains extremely bright for Boynton and Co.

Cade Cunningham and Rondel Walker remain in the fold for the Pokes, and they’re still very much in the race for 4 star power-forward JT Thor. Many expect Thor to announce his decision sometime within the next week.
