Oklahoma State made history Saturday afternoon in Austin, Texas. But not the good kind.
The Cowboys dropped their eighth straight conference game for the first time in program history with a 69-57 loss to Texas.
Thomas Dziagwa scored a career-high 23 points, including seven buckets from beyond the arc.
Isaac Likekele had a good showing in the first half with 10 points and went a perfect 4 for 4 from the field. He would end the day with 16 points and was one of only two Cowboys to reach double-digit points. Texas’ Kerwin Roach had a 11 points and was 4 for 7 from the field. Texas also had 10 points from the bench while Oklahoma State had no bench points.
OSU went into the locker down 38-27.
As far of the rest of the game goes, Texas lead the entire second half. Unfortunately Dziagwa’s amazing performance beyond the arc wouldn’t be enough as he led the team to an 8 for 23 mark from downtown. Additionally he didn’t do so well in the paint and the Pokes as a team went a poor 9 for 18 from the charity stripe. They make some of those and they could be looking at a different game. Lindy Waters struggled today going 0 for 2 from downtown and 2 for 5 from the field. Him and Cameron McGriff combined for 10 points. When all three of OSU’s juniors aren’t making shots, you don’t tend to win games.
Shaka Smart’s squad was lead by Kerwin Roach with 16 points. Dylan Osetkowski would end the game with 14 points and Matt Coleman would also have double-digit points with 10. As a team the Horns were 16 for 18 from the charity stripe.
