Oklahoma State just added another marquee match-up to next season’s non-conference schedule

According to CBS Sports’ Jon Rothstein, the Cowboys will welcome the Georgetown Hoyas to Stillwater for the first annual Big 12 / Big East Challenge.

The conference’s announced a four-year agreement last fall, that would put all ten teams from both the Big 12 and the Big East against one another. The games are expected to be played during the month of December, though no official dates have been announced yet.

Georgetown is coming off a 19-14 season, including 9-9 in the Big East, in year two under head coach Patrick Ewing. The Hoyas’ season ended in the first round of the NIT with a 71-68 loss to 6-seed Harvard.

The Big 12 already has a yearly cross-conference challenge with the SEC that will be entering its seventh season. Those games are played at the end of January. The Big 12 is 4-1-1 in that series, with Oklahoma State touting a 4-2 record.

Oklahoma State, who is coming off a 12-20 season, is set up for another challenging non-conference schedule for the 2019-20 season. The Big 12 and Big East usually rank among the best conferences in college basketball, making this a line-up of ten marquee match-ups. For Oklahoma State, it means another opportunity for Cowboy fans to watch their team take on a well known program with a history of success on the court.
