Oklahoma State was picked to finish seventh in the Big 12 men’s basketball preseason poll, voted on by the league’s head coaches.

The Cowboys were 18-14 last season during their third season under head coach Mike Boynton, who had a top-five 2020 recruiting class headlined by No. 1 recruit and preseason Big 12 freshman of the year Cade Cunningham. OSU also has returning All-Big 12 guard Isaac Likekele and sophomores Kalib and Keylan Boone, Chris Harris and Avery Anderson back.

Baylor took the top spot with seven first-place votes, followed by Kansas with three first-place votes. It’s the first time the Bears have been picked No. 1, and the first time the Jayhawks were not selected to win the regular season title since 2011-12.

West Virginia, Texas, Texas Tech and Oklahoma were ranked Nos. 3 to 6 ahead of OSU. Iowa State, TCU and Kansas State rounded out the league.

OSU is slated to open the season Nov. 25 at the Golden Window showcase in Lincoln, Nebraska.
