While the Oklahoma State men’s basketball non-conference schedule is still seemingly up in the air, it looks like coach Mike Boynton’s squad will open Big 12 conference play in December.
The Cowboys will host TCU and visit Texas for their first two Big 12 games in December, according to Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports.
The Big 12, like many conferences, are planning to play a couple conference games in December to allow them to add open dates on the calendar in case games are delayed or canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Big 12 is expected to stick with the full round-robin 18-game conference schedule.
Earlier this month, it was announced the 2020-21 season will begin Wednesday, Nov. 25.
OSU previously released a non-conference schedule, but some those games were originally schedule for before the Nov. 25 start date.
As of now the only things we have a good idea about are the Big 12 and SEC are expected to continue their annual cross-conference challenge in late January with a Jan. 31 target date.
OSU has yet to withdraw from the 2020 Charleston Classic that is now set to be played in Orlando (though one participating team has announced it is out).
If Oklahoma’s non-conference schedule is any indication, it would seem the Big 12/Big East battle is still on. OSU is currently scheduled to play Marquette on Dec. 1 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
