No. 21 Oklahoma State is a 13.5-point underdog against No. 7 Oklahoma in the annual Bedlam game Saturday. ESPN’s “College GameDay” panel isn’t calling for an upset.
Desmond Howard, Kirk Herbstreit, Lee Corso and guest picker Eric Decker — a former Minnesota wide receiver — all picked the Sooners (10-1, 7-1 Big 12) to defeat the Cowboys (8-3, 5-3). Host Rece Davis, however, did take OSU outright even though he doesn’t officially get a pick.
Howard said Jalen Hurts and OU will take motivation from OSU head coach Mike Gundy’s comments earlier this week.
“Jalen Hurts listening to everyone talk about how he can’t throw the ball, they have a wishbone team,” Howard said. “They’re going to go out there and prove a lot of people wrong today.”
Decker said the Sooners won’t commit a turnover, which he credited as the reason to OU’s last three wins by a combined eight points. Corso called for OU to win big, while Herbstreit stressed the Sooners’ minus-7 turnover differential in their last four outings and being able to not turn the ball over in order to beat the Cowboys.
OSU and OU kick off at 7 p.m. Saturday at Boone Pickens Stadium in Stillwater. The game will be televised on Fox.
