After a career and record-setting game against Pitt, James Washington has now been named the Earl Campbell Player of the Week. The Earl Campbell Award is given nationally to an outstanding offensive Division 1 player who meets the following requirements: 1. Born in Texas; 2. Graduated from a Texas high school; or 3. Played at a Texas-based junior college or four-year college. Washington was named as a preseason watch list member for the award.

Oklahoma State commit Tracin Wallace had a big game in his return to the field after missing nearly two years due to injury. His twin brother and fellow OSU commit Tylan also chipped in an impressive 143 yards and two touchdowns on only four receptions per the Star-Telegram.
Former Oklahoma State cornerback Justin Gilbert suffered a concussion during the Cleveland Browns' preseason matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and did not return. Gilbert will be evaluated further by the team and no estimated time of return has been announced.
