The dreaded NCAA transfer portal has claimed another Oklahoma State player.
Safety Za’Carrius Green has reportedly entered his name, becoming the ninth player to do so since the start of the 2018 season. Along with being listed in the portal on 247Sports, Green has been removed from OSU’s online roster.
Green, part of the 2015 recruiting class, recorded seven tackles in 12 games during the 2018 season and returned one of the two blocked punts against Boise State for a touchdown.
Green was pegged by many to make a major impact on the team ahead of the 2018 season, but was seemingly passed up by freshman Kolby Peel and sophomore Malcolm Rodriguez.
It’s another hit to the Cowboys’ depth at the position as they will have just two upperclassmen on the roster next season in Rodriguez and redshirt junior Malik Givens.
The Duncanville, Texas native is the second safety to enter the portal, joining Thabo Mwaniki who has announced he is transferring to Houston. While Green can still technically return to Stillwater, it’s unlikely that will happen.
