Former Oklahoma State RB Tyreek Hill under investigation for alleged battery, per report

Former Oklahoma State running back/returner and current Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Tyreek Hill is under investigation for alleged battery, according to a report from Brooke Pryor and Steve Vockrodt of The Kansas City Star.

The Star has acquired a Overland Park (Kan.) police report stating the victim is a juvenile. Hill’s fiancée, Crystal Espinal, is listed as “other victims.” Sources tell The Star the juvenile is Hill’s son, and the incident resulted in a broken arm for the 3-year-old.

Hill hasn’t been charged with a crime, and the Chiefs have released a statement on the matter:

“The club is aware of the investigation involving Tyreek Hill,” the Chiefs said in a statement to The Star. “We’re in the process of gathering information and have been in contact with the league and local authorities. We’ll have no further comment at this time.”

In December 2014, Hill was dismissed from the OSU football and track team for a domestic assault and battery by strangulation incident involving Espinal. He pleaded guilty to charges and received three years probation. The charges were taken off his record in August 2018 after he completed probation. The couple has reconciled and are reportedly expecting twins.

Hill complied more than 1,800 all-purpose yards in 12 games for OSU during the 2014 season, and was named the Big 12’s Newcomer of the Year. He finished his collegiate career at the University of West Alabama.
