The Big 12 released their preseason poll this afternoon and Mike Gundy’s Oklahoma State team placed in the middle of the pack at fifth, the same position they were in the 2018’s preseason poll.
Oklahoma landed in first place for the fourth consecutive season with 68 of the 77 first-place votes. Texas was the only other squad receiving first-place votes with nine and come in at No. 2.
Iowa State was third, followed by the biggest shocker at No. 4 with TCU. The Horned Frogs were 4-5 in conference last season.
Baylor was the sixth choice followed by Texas Tech, West Virginia, K-State and Kansas. Baylor’s Matt Rhule is the lone returning head coach amongst that group as Matt Wells (TTU), Neal Brown (WVU), Chris Klieman (K-State) and Les Miles (KU) will be new coaches this fall.
Here’s the poll in it’s entirety:
- Oklahoma (68) - 761

- Oklahoma State - 460
- Baylor - 453
