Oklahoma State will kick off its 15th season under head coach Mike Gundy this fall. Cowboys Ride For Free will have a 15-day countdown with one article each day until the Cowboys’ season opener Aug. 30 at Oregon State.

Oklahoma State has five players on preseason watch lists heading into the season. A.J. Green, Chuba Hubbard and Tylan Wallace each made two lists, while Calvin Bundage (Butkus) and Johnny Wilson (Rimington) made one.

Calvin Bundage: Butkus

A.J. Green: Nagurski, Thorpe

Chuba Hubbard: Doak Walker, Maxwell

Tylan Wallace: Biletnkoff, Walter Camp

Johnny Wilson: Rimington

In 2017, punter Zach Sinor launched a clever Heisman Trophy campaign that fell short. But this year OSU should champion a campaign of its own for a current player with Hubbard for... the Cornish Trophy.

The redshirt sophomore running back/returner from Sherwood Park, Alberta, was one of five finalists last year for the Cornish, which is awarded annually to the top Canadian student-athlete in college football. Ohio senior quarterback Nathan Rourke is looking to win the award for a third straight year.

There’s no reason why OSU shouldn’t have some fun and pump up the Canadian Cowboy for the Cornish, especially given how unlikely the other players are to win the awards they’re on watch lists for.
