Oklahoma State will have another bye week after its Oct. 17 game at Baylor in Waco, Texas, was postponed to Dec. 12 because of a “significant increase in positive COVID-19 cases” among the Bears football program.
The game could impact the Big 12 Championships, which is still set to be Dec. 12 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. However if the No. 7 Cowboys (3-0, 2-0 Big 12) are in the running to be in that game, the championship will be postponed by a week to Dec. 19.

“We are disappointed to postpone another game,” Baylor athletic director Mack Rhoades said in a release. “However, the significant increase in positive COVID-19 cases has led to concerns of an outbreak and the decision to suspend team practice through Oct. 17. Secondly, this has caused a position group to fall below the minimum threshold of available players. “Though this is an unfortunate outcome, we remain determined to return to the field in the safest manner possible. Thank you to Commissioner [Bob] Bowlsby and Oklahoma State AD Mike Holder for their cooperation in rescheduling this matchup.”
The Cowboys’ next game is scheduled for Oct. 24 against No. 20 Iowa State Cyclones (3-1, 2-0) at Boone Pickens Stadium in Stillwater. It’ll be almost a month since OSU’s last home game when they defeated West Virginia Mountaineers 27-13 on Sept. 26.
The Cyclones have their bye week this coming weekend after defeating Texas Tech Red Raiders 31-15 in Ames.
