ESPN’s ‘College GameDay’ panel unanimously picks No. 15 Oklahoma State over West Virginia

For a second straight week it was a clean sweep for the Cowboys.

Oklahoma State kicks off its Big 12 season against West Virginia as a seven-point favorite Saturday at Boone Pickens Stadium in Stillwater.

ESPN’s “College GameDay” crew along with celebrity guest picker Jon “Stugotz” Weiner from “The Dan Le Batard Show with Stugotz” unanimously chose the Cowboys to improve to 2-0 with a victory against the Mountaineers. OSU has lost its past four conference openers.

The group acknowledged starting quarterback Spencer Sanders is questionable with an ankle injury which may lead to an increase production from running back Chuba Hubbard.

“Oklahoma State has a better performance, a bounce back performance. It doesn’t matter who is playing quarterback,” David Pollack said.

Weiner said he likes Hubbard and OSU’s offense then went as far as saying the Cowboys would “blow out” WVU. Lee Corso noted the series started 92 years ago and OSU will win its sixth straight against the Mountaineers.

Earlier in the show, Howard, Pollack and Herbstreit shared more of their thoughts on the matchup.

“I’m riding the Cowboys. I picked them to be in the College Football Playoff,” Desmond Howard said. “I think they’ll win a close one against the Mountaineers. I’m going Cowboys.”

“Now you’ve had a week of ‘you stink, you should’ve lost to Tulsa’ and that’s always a good recipe for coaches,” Pollack said. “I like OSU winning a close one.”

“I like Oklahoma State to win this game and look much better doing it today,” Herbstreit said.
