Gyasi Akem signs with Oklahoma State

Outside Linebacker Gyasi Akem has signed his Letter of Intent with the Cowboys

The Oklahoma State Cowboys have signed 4-Star linebacker Gyasi Akem to the 2014 Freshmen Class. Akem held offers from Baylor, Clemson, Georgia Tech, Ole Miss, Missouri, Oklahoma and others.

Listed at 6-6 220 lbs, Akem was a consistent play-maker on defense for the Broken Arrow Tigers racking up 75 total tackles, 3 sacks and an interception. Akem and the Tigers made it to the semifinals of the Oklahoma 6A playoffs last season before falling to Tulsa Union.

Here is Scout's take on Akem

Akem is a great athlete playing defense, but his best days are still ahead of him, as he continues to develop his technique and skills as a backer. He has great size and length and the true ability to run and cover. he is one of the Top 10 100-meter runners in the state, which speaks of that ability. His good coming off the edge and applying pressures. Uses his hands well to play off of blocks and make tackles. - Greg Powers
