Jacobe Smith made the first step into his MMA career by signing with Zinkin MMA on Tuesday.
Smith, who was a 2018 NCAA All-American wrestler and two-time Big 12 champion at 174 pounds at Oklahoma State, announced the signing on Instagram.
Smith, a two-time national junior college champion (2015, 2016) at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M prior to his time at OSU, will train with former Cowboys Daniel Cormier and Kyle Crutchmer at American Kickboxing Academy in San Jose, California. Smith and Crutchmer were teammates at OSU during the 2016-17 season, when the former went 15-0 as a redshirt and Crutchmer was 23-7 and earned his second All-American honor as the 174 starter.
