Oklahoma State on PGA Tour: 5 former Cowboys make the cut at 2020 US Open

All five former Oklahoma State golfers competing at the 2020 U.S. Open made the cut Friday at Winged Foot Golf Club in Mamaroneck, New York.

Rickie Fowler, Viktor Hovland, Charles Howell III, Alex Noren and Matthew Wolff advanced to the third round Saturday at the second golf major of the year.

Wolff, who dropped five spots during the second round, carded bogeys on four of his first five holes for a 4-over 74 to be tied for seventh place at even-par 140.

Hovland also struggled early with bogeys on three of the first four holes, but surged forward with three birdies on the back nine for his second consecutive 1-over 71 for a share of 17th. He moved up 16 spots on the leaderboard.

Howell III climbed 38 spots to a tie for 33rd with a 5-over total after his 2-over 72 with an eagle on No. 9.

Fowler and Noren both made the cut on the number (6 over) and are tied for 49th. Fowler fell 35 spots thanks to a 7-over 77 with two double bogeys. Noren shot a 4-over 74 with a birdie on No. 18.
