Jakason Burks, a two-time Nebraska state wrestling champion, committed to Oklahoma State on Sunday.
The Omaha (Nebraska) Burke junior announced his commitment to OSU via Twitter prior to the No. 2-ranked Cowboys’ 27-12 home dual win over No. 3 Iowa in front of a sold out crowd at Gallagher-Iba Arena.
After many visits and deep thought I’ve decided to commit 100% to Oklahoma State! Thank you to all the coaches who have expressed interests in me and the coaches who have got me here! #GoPokes pic.twitter.com/GNjYxpcEOi

Last month, Burks announced his top-5 finalists: OSU, Iowa State, Minnesota, Nebraska and Ohio State. The majority of Burks’ finalists consider Iowa as a top wrestling rival, so he’ll fit right in with the Cowboys.

Last week, Burks completed his 58-0 undefeated season by winning the Class A 120-pound state title. He won the 106-pound bracket as a sophomore and was fourth at the same weight his freshman season.
Burks’ prowess on the mats isn’t just limited to folkstyle as he has claimed a national title in freestyle and made the last world team for the United States in Greco Roman at the cadet levels.
Burks is ranked No. 15 overall in the Class of 2020 by FloWrestling. He’s projected to wrestle at 125 or 133 for the Cowboys.
