Three-Star Linebacker Names OSU in Top 3, Schedules Visit

OSU will host the talented recruit in April

Oklahoma State got some potentially good news this week, as 3-star inside linebacker Corey Flagg, Jr. has reportedly put the Cowboys into his top-3 ahead of a spring commitment.

According to Sam Spiegelman of Rivals, OSU joins Texas Tech and Boston College as Flagg’s preferred destinations.

“The offers that have grabbed my attention are Oklahoma State, Texas Tech and Boston College,” Flagg told Spiegelman. “I love the Oklahoma State coaches.”

Flagg plans to visit all three schools before making a final decision this Spring. He has scheduled his trip to Stillwater for April 19th, which will likely include April 20th, Oklahoma State’s Spring Game.

“I want to take my official visit to Oklahoma State to get down there and see how things are in Stillwater. The coaching staff tells me it’s a quiet place, peaceful with not much going on, and that’s what I like. They talk to me about my fit, my instincts and rushing the passer because of the sacks I had this year. That’s a big part of what they do -- a lot of blitzing like Justin Phillips. That’s a blessing and I’m very interested.”

As of now, OSU and Tech are considered the favorites of the three due to their proximity to his home in Houston. As far as what Flagg is looking for; his family.

“The X-factor … the biggest thing I’m gonna look at is family -- how I feel and the way that my family feels and the education. This is a business. There’s a lot of things that college brings, but it’s mainly about the education. I know about football, so this is about education.”

Flagg narrowed his list down from 10 offers, dropping Memphis, Louisiana Tech, SMU, North Texas, Liberty, UTSA, and Texas State.

As a Junior, Flagg was a first-team All-District selection for the 2018 Texas 6A Champion North Shore High Mustangs. He put up 144 tackles, including 33 TFLs, and four sacks. He also forced five fumbles and broke up four passes.
