Four-star guard Chris Harris makes official visit to Oklahoma State this weekend

OSU is going all in on the talented shooting guard

Oklahoma State is playing host this weekend to one of the most highly sought after recruits in the class of 2019; four-star shooting guard Chris Harris Jr. That’s according to Evan Daniels of 247Sports who says Harris and his father are both currently in Stillwater

But, Harris didn’t make his trip to Stillwater alone.

Harris is also good friends with OSU point guard Isaac Likekele. The two are members of the “Baggage Claim Boys”; a group of the best guards in the Dallas-Fort Worth area who came together as friends and includes five-star combo guard and Kentucky signee Tyrese Maxey.

Likekele posted a photo of the two of them playing together on his Snapchat a few days ago.

With Likekele already on the team, and Marcus Watson — who has been working hard to recruit Harris — joining the trip, it’s obvious Oklahoma State is putting on the full-court press to land Harris, and for good reason. The 6-foot-3, 195-pound Garland, Texas guard is one of the better scorers in the class, and ranks as the 15th best shooting guard for 2019.

Adding Harris to an already talented 2019 class would be huge for Coach Boynton in year three and likely buy him even more leeway if the Cowboys don’t reach the NCAA tournament in year three of his tenure.

All that said, OSU isn’t the only team coming hard after Harris. The Cowboys will be battling the likes of Texas Tech, Nebraska, North Carolina State, Georgia, Georgia Tech, SMU, Arkansas, and Creighton. That’s according to an interview with Bill Hipple of Rivals.com.

Texas Tech, who has a chance to reach the Final Four on Saturday, has been pushing especially hard and will get a visit from Harris sometime in the future.

“I didn’t talk to them that much until recently,” Harris told Hipple. “Coach Beard and Coach Burg are in touch with me a lot now.... Texas Tech being in the state gives them a little edge, but if they play my game, that will speak for itself. I want to go where it is the best fit for me.”

Harris says he wants to commit on April 18th, so it won’t be too long until we find out his decisions.
