It didn’t take long for new assistant coach Erik Pastrana to make his presence known on the recruiting trail for Oklahoma State. Coach Pastrana and the Cowboys have extended scholarship offers to three Florida prospects in the last week.

One is a 2021 combo guard out of Orlando we’ve already looked at. The other two are 2020 guard Michael Eads out of Orlando and 2021 wing Ramses Melendez out of Kissimmee.

Neither prospect has a 247Sports or Rivals player profile and there isn’t a lot of information about either.

6-6 wing Melendez has picked up offers from Oklahoma State and Florida in the last week.

In 13 games of action as a sophomore for Central Pointe Christian Academy last season, Melendez averaged 4.6 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 0.8 assists per game, while shooting 83% from the field.

6-5 shooting guard Eads has received offers from OSU, Florida Gulf-Coast, Florida International, and North Florida.

In 17 games as a junior for Edgewater High School, Eads averaged 16.8 points, 9.3 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.4 steals per game, while shooting 48%.

Both guys are under the radar at this point, but it could turn out to be a blessing in disguise that Oklahoma State got in on them early. It will be interesting to see if Pastrana’s Florida connections can do more than just help find prospects but actually bring them to Stillwater.
