Oklahoma State is still looking for their first running back commit for the 2020 class. They got some potentially good news on that front on Saturday night.
Four-star Daniyel Ngata, the second-ranked all-purpose back in the class of 2020 released his final five schools on Twitter and included Oklahoma State.
“I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my eye upon you.”

Joining OSU are Texas A&M, Clemson, Utah, and Arizona State. Ngata had released a top-seven about a month ago, but has since eliminated Oregon and Penn State.
At this point, the Aggies are considered the favorites to land the Folsom, California ball-carrier. That’s according to 247Sports, where three crystal balls in the Aggies’ favor have popped up since Saturday night. That includes a vote from the site’s National Recruiting Editor Brandon Huffman, who has an all-time prediction accuracy percentage of 97.5.
One reason A&M is considered a strong favorite is because that’s the only school Ngata has taken an official visit too, a trip he made back on June 21st. It’s a relationship that has developed quickly as the Aggies were the last team to offer.
Clemson shouldn’t be counted out though, as the Tigers signed Daniyel’s older brother Joe Ngata in the 2019 class.
Ngata does have nice things to say about Oklahoma State.
“Oklahoma State is a program on the rise,” Ngata told Brandon Huffman. “I have a great relationship with a few of the coaches. And they have a good deal with the running back position.”
Last season, Ngata accounted for 874 yards and 10 touchdowns rushing and 667 yards and 10 touchdowns receiving, plus two kick-off return TDs.
There’s no set timeline on when Ngata is going to commit. However, with the “commitment next” statement at the bottom of his tweet, that’s the next big announcement we can expect. And I doubt it will be long off.
