Jaden Nixon, a three-star running back from Frisco (Texas) Lone Star, announced hits committed to Oklahoma State on social media Wednesday. Nixon is OSU’s first class of 2021 commit on the offensive side of the ball and third overall.
Thank you to all of the coaches who offered me an opportunity to play at the next level. At this time I believe it’s best to stick to my roots and become a Cowboy #GoPokes #okstate pic.twitter.com/1pBxcjlNkG

OSU is Nixon’s only Power-5 offer at the time of his commitment, though he has nearly 20 other offers. Nixon rushed for 821 yards, more than 200 receiving yards and 16 total touchdowns as a part of a high-powered Lone Star offense this past season.
Nixon will likely play a bigger role during his senior season with quarterback Garret Rangel following top 2020 prospect Marvin Mims graduation and arrival to Oklahoma. Rangel, who will be a junior next all, already has caught OSU’s attention and was one of his first Power-5 offers.
Lone Star defeated Texas power Highland Park twice in 2019, and Nixon scored the game-winning touchdown in overtime to end the Scots hopes of a fourth straight state championship.

Lone Star is now in the same district as state runner-up Denton Ryan, who eliminated Lone Star in the state semifinals a year ago. Nixon will have his entire senior season to convince his quarterback to join him in Stillwater.
