He made unofficial visits to OSU (Jan. 18), TCU (Jan. 19) and Texas Tech (March 7) before the NCAA suspended recruiting activities due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Oliver had 30 tackles, including two tackles for loss, two sacks, three forced fumbles and one interception in only six games before missing the rest of the 2019 season due to injury. He’s a two-sport athlete and also competes in field events such as high jump, long jump and shot put.
Oliver is ranked No. 14 nationally among 2021 inside linebackers and No. 4 overall regardless of position in the state of Oklahoma, according to 247Sports.
The Cowboys have three Santa Fe alums on their roster for the 2020 season with redshirt senior linebacker Calvin Bundage, redshirt sophomore running back Mbari Snoddy and sophomore defensive end Trace Ford.
