Oklahoma State remains in the running for one of the top rated linebacker prospects for 2021.

Three-star inside linebacker Jackie Marshall named OSU among his top-five schools Sunday on Twitter. Big 12 schools Baylor and Texas Tech, as well as Houston and Louisiana Tech were also listed. Among the schools out of the running who offered him are Arizona, Colorado, Kansas, Miami, Michigan State and Washington State.

OSU was the first Power 5 program to offer Marshall back in January at a Junior Day event.

Whether you go by 247 Sports’ ranking (No. 17 inside linebacker) or their composite ranking (No. 24 ILB), Marshall is considered one of the 25 best players at his position in the class.

Marshall, who played both middle linebacker and defensive end last season for East St. John in Reserve, Louisiana, racked up 82 total tackles (71 solo) in 11 games during his junior season. That includes 38 tackles for loss and 11 sacks. He also blocked a punt.

Linebacker is a position of importance for the 2021 class, with the eligibility of Calvin Bundage, Devin Harper, Amen Ogbongbemiga and Malcolm Rodriguez all set to expire at the end of the 2020 season.

OSU currently has two linebacker commits for 2021 with four-star Collin Oliver (Edmond, Okla.) and three-star Kolbe Fields, who is also out of Louisiana.
