The Rockdale, Texas, product also included fellow Big 12 school Texas Tech along with Arkansas, Arizona State, Nebraska, Purdue and Utah. Texas Tech has long been considered the favorite to land his services, with Arkansas and OSU in the mix as well. 247sports lists those three as his “warm” interests.
OSU landed three-star back Jaden Nixon from Lone Star High in Frisco, Texas. The Pokes will look to take one more running back in this class to help bolster depth.
Running back is an important position to watch for this class because 2020 will be the last year of eligibility for L.D. Brown and inevitably the final year for Chuba Hubbard as well. The next-most experienced backs on the roster are Dezmon Jackson and Deondrick Glass, each of whom have seen little playing time.
While Nixon is a solid get, taking another running back in this class will be welcomed. Valdez has named OSU in his top seven and the Cowboys figure to be in consideration to the end.
OSU is also in consideration for Tavierre Dunlap (Del Valle, TX), Alton McCaskill (Conroe, TX) and Logan Diggs, who is high school teammates with current OSU commit Kolbe Fields at Archbishop Rummel (Metaire, LA).
