After two straight days of de-commitments, Oklahoma State picked up some much needed good news on the recruiting trail after three-star wide receiver John Paul Richardson of Missouri City, Texas, (Ridge Point High School) announced his commitment Tuesday.

Richardson is the fourth wide receiver commit for the Cowboys’ class of 2021. He joins Bryson and Blaine Green, and Jaden Bray. Richardson has long been seen as fitting into the “Dillon Stoner” role as a slot wide receiver.

This commitment will round out OSU’s wide receiver group for this class, and should have the team set up well for the future. Richardson’s commitment gives the Pokes 11 for the class, and bumps it back up to No. 49 in the nation after it dropped to No. 56 on Monday following three-star linebacker Kolbe Fields’ decommitment.

Ridge Point lost its district for the first time since becoming a Class 6A team in Texas last season, but the Panthers will be poised to win their district and potentially make a deep playoff run this season. Keep an eye on Richardson this season, as his recruitment could be one to pick up steam late in the year. Regardless, OSU is getting a good one and locks down the long-term future of the slot position.
