Oklahoma State added another top-200 prospect to its 2020 class with Daniel Jezik’s signing Wednesday.
The Coal City, Illinois native went 28-0 and won the 182-pound title in Illinois’ Class 2A division — the second highest division in Illinois’ three class system — as a junior. The year before he lost by technical fall in the Class 1A 160-pound final to Danny Braunagel, who is now the University of Illinois’ 165-pound starter.
Jezik is also a star running back with 2,005 rushing yards this season for the top-ranked and undefeated Coalers, who play in the quarterfinals this weekend.
Jezik’s signing gives the Cowboys yet another wrestler for 184 or 197. OSU already has five on its roster for this season and fellow 2020 signee Dustin Plott of Tuttle, Oklahoma, is projected to be at 184. Plott is the second-ranked prospect in the country behind another OSU signee in AJ Ferrari of Allen, Texas. Ferrari could also wrestle at 197 or heavyweight.
