Oklahoma State’s No. 4-ranked Nick Piccininni picked up his first career win against No. 2 Spencer Lee of Iowa with a second-period fall at 125 pounds Sunday at Gallagher-Iba Arena in Stillwater.
Piccininni, who improved to 26-0, escaped with 38 seconds left in the second then was able to take the reigning NCAA champion down to his back for the fall to give the Cowboys a 6-0 lead.

Piccininni went 0-2 against Lee last season, including losing by fall at the NCAA tournament.
With the win, Piccininni remains undefeated this season and hands Lee his second loss. Lee, who has battled injuries this season, previously lost to top-ranked Sebastian Rivera of Northwestern at the Midlands Championships in Evanston, Illinois.
