Oklahoma State redshirt sophomore Daton Fix will wrestle men’s freestyle at 57 kilograms for the United States at the 2019 Pan American Games, USA Wrestling announced Thursday.

The Games will be Aug. 7-10 in Lima, Peru, with the Greco-Roman action starting things off Aug. 7-8 before women’s freestyle Aug. 8-9 and men’s freestyle Aug. 9-10.

Fix captured a spot on the United States’ World Championship team earlier this month by defeating 2017 World silver medalist Thomas GIlman in a three-match series at Final X: Lincoln. Fix is no stranger to international competition having won the 2017 World junior title and two World junior bronze medals, a Cadet World bronze and youth Olympic Games silver.

In his first season at OSU, the Sand Springs native was the NCAA runner-up at 133 pounds and posted a 34-2 overall record with 12 wins over ranked opponents.
