Connor Webb traded in crimson and cream for America’s Brightest Orange when he transferred from Oklahoma to Oklahoma State.

The heavyweight wrestler went 5-22, including 2-14 in dual action, as a freshman for the Sooners during the 2017-18 season. He redshirted the next season and did not compete this past season, according to his bio on OSU’s website.

Webb, a three-time state champion from Davis, Oklahoma, joins fellow redshirt junior Cornelius Putnam and true freshmen Konner Doucet and George Marsh at heavyweight on OSU’s roster for the 2020-21 campaign. Putnam went 1-3 in four dual matches this past season, with his lone win against Missouri’s Jacob Bohlken in overtime.

OSU coach John Smith bumped up 197-pounder Austin Harris to be the Cowboys’ starter at heavyweight this past season. Harris was 5-12 and struggled against bigger opponents. Smith will likely turn to the four true heavyweights to fill the spot this upcoming season.
