Cowgirls Basketball conference schedule announced

Earlier today, The Big 12 announced their basketball conference schedules for it’s women's basketball teams.

The Oklahoma State Cowgirls went 19-9 last year, finished third in the Big 12, and losing in the second round of the NCAA tournament to the eventual national champion Stanford Lady Cardinal.

The Cowgirls lost two key cogs to last year’s team, including their star player and Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year, Natasha Mack, who was drafted in the second round of the WNBA draft to the Chicago Sky. They also lost Ja’Mee Asberry, who transferred to Baylor.

The Cowgirls Big 12 schedule opens up with two home games on January 2nd and January 5th against the Texas Lady Longhorns and Kansas State.

Also in January, The Cowgirls will travel to Baylor on the 19th & travel to Norman for the first round of Bedlam the following Wednesday. Sandwiched between those two games is West Virginia, who beat the Cowgirls in the Big 12 Tournament back in March. That game is at home on January 22nd.

In February, they open up the month on February 5th traveling to Ames against Iowa State, who also made to the second round of the NCAA Tournament and is coached by Bill Fennelly, who’s entering his 27th year as Iowa State’s head coach. They then return home to take on TCU and Texas Tech on February 9th and 12th.

They then travel to the Kansas schools the following week taking on Kansas the 16th and Kansas State the 19th. The gauntlet returns at the Cowgirls host Baylor on February 23rd, travel to West Virginia on the 26th and host senior night against the Oklahoma Sooners on March 2nd.

Their final regular-season game is at Austin against Texas before traveling to Kansas City for the Big 12 Tournament at the historic Municipal Auditorium on March 10th through the 13th.
